PPQG Challenge 2011 This year's challenge will involve using up some of your left-over fabric from your stash rather than purchasing more fabric. The challenge will begin at the August meeting at which time you will receive a bag of fabric pieces. Use this fabric along with some of your own stash to start making your challenge project. The following month (Sept) bring your project for show & tell along with a bag of fabric pieces you are donating to be traded with another participating member. Use these fabric pieces in your project. At the Oct meeting bring your project for show & tell and also another bag of fabric pieces to trade with another member. Now finish your project to show at the March 2011 challenge meeting. The guild will vote on their favorite projects and ribbons will be awarded (maybe even prizes). Rules: 1. Sign up to participate at the March and/or April meeting. The cost is 15 points for the initial bag of fabric pieces. 2. Minimum size of fabric pieces is 5 1/2 inches square (may be much bigger). 3. Minimum number of fabric pieces in each bag is 6. 4. All fabric must be quality cotton and all fabric pieces received must be used (a minimum of 2 inch square). 5. Project and size is your choosing (quilt, wall hanging, clothing, etc) and must be completed by the participant only (including any quilting). 6. Please maintain a scrapbook of samples (1 inch square) of all the fabric pieces that you received (if you need to use all the fabric piece, you may Xerox it and use that in the scrapbook). Questions: see Evelyn Browning or Ann Jefferis Non-members are encouraged to participate in the challenge, but are requested to join PPQG. "Your entry fee will be the membership fee, and this will help pay for the prizes awarded." Thus if any non-members are participating and they win a prize, we deduct the dues from the award money. This would also work for "members" who have not yet paid their dues (not on Treasurer's list of members for this year). |
